Cancellation protection on this trip is $24 per person and is due with your deposit.

* COVID Cancellation Policy – Please note that for any trip that is directly or indirectly canceled due to COVID or other pandemics, or Government restrictions there will be no refund of monies.  Any monies paid will be left on your account to be used for a future trip.  This transfer does not have an expiration date so it will be available when you are comfortable traveling once again.  The funds are also available for transfer to other people with verbal confirmation from the individual who made the payment.  We hope travelers understand but if you have questions please call Travel Treasures and Tours staff at 313-292-6300.

Itinerary

On Day 1 – Sunday, April 7, 2024 the itinerary begins with a departure for Cleveland. The group arrives in Cleveland for lunch (on your own) and shopping at Tower City Center,featuring the Jack Cleveland Casino & Skylight Park. The park, in collaboration with Cuyahoga Valley National Park, offers a green space for relaxation & reflection. Following this, a guided tour of Cleveland commences, including a stop at the Christmas Story House, the actual Victorian house used in the film “A Christmas Story.” The tour concludes at Hofbrauhaus, a German restaurant, for an authentic Bavarian experience. The group then departs for the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Akron.

On Day 2 – Monday, April 8, 2024 after starting the day with breakfast at the hotel, the highlight of the itinerary is a visit to the Akron Zoo. The zoo offers a unique experience as travelers go around theworld, exploring themed areas representing different parts of the globe. Amidst the beauty of the Lehner Family Zoo Gardens, adorned with numerous plants, flowers, and fountains, visitors can immerse themselves in nature’s charm. A special feature of the day is the travelers’ front-row seat to the total solar eclipse. The group will have the opportunity to witness the celestial event from the Komodo Kingdom patio and heated area with private seating are set apart for Travel Treasures & Tours. Lunch will be served at noon in this designated area, providing a comfortable & scenic vantage point for the eclipse. The partial eclipse is scheduled to begin at 1:59 PM and will last through 4:29 PM. The total solar eclipse, known as totality, will be visible everywhere in Summit County from 3:13 pm to 3:17 pm. During these few magical minutes of the total eclipse, participants will have the rare chance to look directly at the celestial phenomenon. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars or other telescopic apparatus for an enhanced view. It’s important to note that during the partial eclipse, special glasses should be used to prevent any harm to the eyes. Following the awe-inspiring moment of the total eclipse, refreshments will be served, allowing travelers to relax or continue exploring the various areas of the Akron Zoo while the roads in the area clear. The day concludes with dinner and entertainment back at the hotel, providing a perfect end to a day filled with both natural wonders and delightful experiences.

On Day 3 – Tuesday, April 9, 2024 breakfast is included at the hotel. The day begins with a departure for Fannie May Chocolates and then proceeds to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Highlights of the tour include the Manor House, Music Room, Great Hall, & family recreation areas. Lunch is scheduled, followed by a visit to Cherry City Honey Farms & Apiary. The experience includes a meeting with beekeepers, honey samplings, and a beeswax candle project. The day concludes w/ a departure for home.
